01 — What it is
THE
ALGO
RITHM
MADE
VISIBLE

In internet culture, brainrot describes digital media so relentlessly off, so viscerally wrong, that you cannot look away. Every piece that stops your thumb has been surfaced by a machine that learned exactly what keeps you in the feed.

BRAINROT is a simulation of that phenomenon. A collection of absurdities selected and judged by AI — a copy of something that has no original. Real brainrot emerges from millions of human impulses filtered through algorithmic selection.

BRAINROT produces it deliberately, by design, and with a complete record of every decision made. The project is also a document of how AI handles the act of thinking in situations of cultural judgment — not logical problems, but the messy contested territory of taste and memetic viability.

What the algorithm hides, BRAINROT publishes.
The manipulation is the art.
The deliberation is the work.

03 — The Pipeline

Two Rounds.
90% Cut.
Each Time.

01

The Imagination

Procedural AI generation produces 5,000 name + description pairs. Surreal, absurd, memetically engineered — each a collision of animal, object, food, fashion, or phenomenon. Every concept logged to the provenance archive.

5,000 Generated
02

The Reckoning

The Eliminator agent scores each concept across five memetic dimensions: Spreadability, Wrongness, Name Quality, Originality, Visual Clarity. Binary verdict — IN or OUT — with a single line of reasoning. 90% elimination. 4,500 suppressed before the court ever sits.

500 Survive
03

The Trial

Each of the 500 survivors faces a three-agent faux court. Advocate argues for. Adversary argues against. Judge rules. Eight exchanges per creature. Philosophical framing and memetic scoring. 250 Amplified. 250 Suppressed. The verdict is permanent.

04

Image + Video Generation

All 500 creatures are made regardless of verdict. Hyper-realistic studio photography. Seamless white background. Joel Sartore aesthetic. Deadpan sincerity. The presentation is always more serious than the subject deserves.

Token Delivery

Each token is a self-contained HTML file. Animation on Arweave. Tap anywhere — the glass panel opens. The trial plays out in real time, typewriter style. The verdict stands permanently. The argument is what you own.

THE
FAUX
COURT

Every creature faces three AI agents. The form is borrowed from legal procedure — adversarial structure is the most reliable way to surface weaknesses in any argument.

The creature either survives the strongest case against it, or it doesn't. Eight exchanges. Full philosophical framing. A permanent verdict. The argument is what you own.

⚖️
The Advocate
Argues for the creature's right to be amplified. Makes the strongest possible case for memetic viability. Selects a philosophical frame from Bergson, Kristeva, Baudrillard, Freud, and others. Commits. Does not hedge.
🗡️
The Adversary
Argues against. Finds weaknesses in concept, visual, and name. Challenges whether the creature will produce the required psychological effect. Selects an opposing frame. No creature is automatically safe.
👁️
The Judge
Having heard both sides, delivers a ruling with full reasoning. Weighs philosophical score against memetic score. Identifies the decisive argument. Issues a permanent verdict: Amplified or Suppressed.
06 — Rarity Classification

Four Classes.
Ranked by Memetic Potential.

Rarity is determined entirely by trial scores — philosophical merit and memetic viability combined. 250 Amplified are distributed across three tiers. 250 Suppressed carry their verdict. The loss is not hidden. It is part of the work.

Apex ~25 tokens  ·  Amplified
Memetic score 9.0+. Defeated both Eliminator and Adversary decisively. The strongest cases. The names that travel furthest. The wrongness that cannot be unseen.
Signal ~75 tokens  ·  Amplified
Memetic score 7.0–8.9. Clear viability. The Advocate's argument held. Philosophically coherent, visually distinct, names that stick. The core of the Amplified collection.
Noise ~150 tokens  ·  Amplified
Memetic score 5.0–6.9. Survived trial but the argument was closer. Strong enough to be made. Not strong enough to be unambiguous. The interesting failures that aren't quite failures.
Static 250 tokens  ·  Suppressed
The Adversary won. Suppressed by the court and made anyway. Every token carries the full trial transcript — the exact reasoning used against it, permanently attached.

THE
ARGUMENT
IS WHAT
YOU OWN

The creatures are the pretext.
The deliberation is the work.

A suppressed token is not a lesser token.
It is a document of a decision made against it,
with full reasoning attached.
The Adversary won.
You can read exactly why.

This is what the algorithm never gives you.
The 4,500 things it decided you would not see,
and the exact reasoning it used to make that call.
